Principal's Newsletter for May/June 2017

May/June 2017

Dear HACS Parents,

May the peace of our risen Lord and the prayers of all of the angels and Saints guide us to a peaceful end to our school year.  The work that you do as parents and that we do as educators is not easy, we all know and understand that.  Every minute of every day presents a new challenge and calls for a new prayer.  Congratulations and thank you parents, faculty and staff members, volunteers, and students on your positive and productive work together!

Please follow the dates and events for May and June carefully. Your child has six more weeks of school.  Our 8th graders graduate on June 2nd, but our last day for students in Pre-K through Grade 7 is Friday, June 9th.  Please help your child make it a very productive and positive closing.  I know that there are no surprises about your child’s academic achievement, your financial responsibilities, or our school events because we communicate everything in writing to you.  Let’s work together to make these final six weeks of school peaceful and positive.

Trust that our HACS Uniform Code will not change, so if your child verbally informs you that it has, don’t go along with the request.  If there are any changes or special out-of-uniform days, you will receive it in writing.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher, Mrs. Martin, or me. We will be happy to work with you to help you end the year smoothly.  May God continue to bless you and keep you safe.

Sincerely,

M. Kathleen Filippelli

Principal

May, the Month of Mary

The Beads of Hope Rosary Prayer Group will meet once a week during first recess at 12:15 on days that my calendar permits me to be present with the children. This prayer devotion remembers the life and work of Jesus as we pray to Him through the intercession of His holy mother, Mary. If you have a need for intercessory prayer, please email me your prayer request. I will add you to our Prayer List!

T3 Interim Reports

Your child will bring home the T3 Interim Report on Wednesday, May 3rd.  Read it carefully with your child, set goals for a strong finish, and remind your child there are no surprises. Please sign the Interim Report and return it to school.

Holy Angels Catholic School STEM Fair

Our students will present their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math project-based learning activities in the gymnasium on Thursday, May 4th from 10:00-12:00, 1:30-2:30, and 6:00-7:30.   Please come to hear our students explain their STEM projects. Encourage them to continue their success in this field.  You will be given a STEM Fair Booklet when you arrive. Put your child’s name on it and then have your child escort you through each presentation. If you turn in your completed Booklet at the end of your visit, your child will receive an Out-of-Uniform pass. I hope you enjoy this parent & child activity and our STEM Fair.
