Principal's Newsletter for October 2017

October 2017

Dear Holy Angels Catholic School Parents and Guardians:

May the peace of Christ be with you.  It has been such a joy to work with you and your child this month! The 2017-18 school year got off to a great start.  The children are enjoying reading the book Wonder and are consciously and carefully choosing to be kind.  Is everyone perfect at it?  No, not perfect, but very good at thinking before speaking, choosing kind, positive words, and working together peacefully.  I invite you, too, to join us in this effort.  Create a positive partnership with your child’s teachers so that your child knows you are a team.  We want our students to excel and meet our academic standards and your expectations.

October is designated in the church as the month of the Holy Rosary, a beautiful scriptural prayer to Jesus through His holy mother, Mary.  Students in Grades 4-8 will have the opportunity to join the Holy Angels Catholic School Rosary Prayer Group once a week during recess. Participation is voluntary and all are welcome. We will pray for the intentions that were written and placed at our school Prayer Table by our students, teachers, and parents.  This year, the church celebrates the 100th anniversary of Mother Mary’s message to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, entreating them to pray for peace in our homes and in our world. The message is an important one for today, so we continue to pray for peace.

May all of you enjoy this wonderful autumn season.

Respectfully,

M. Kathleen Filippelli

Principal
