Principal's Newsletter for Oct 2015

October 2015

Dear Holy Angels Catholic School Parents and Guardians:

Please create a positive partnership with your child’s teachers so that your child can excel and meet our academic standards and your expectations.  The children are reaping the benefits of your sacrifice and our hard work.

October is designated in the church as the month of the Holy Rosary, a beautiful scriptural prayer to Jesus through His holy mother, Mary. Students in Grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to join the Holy Angels Catholic School Rosary Prayer Group once a week during recess. Participation is voluntary and all are welcome. We will pray for the intentions that were written and placed at our school Prayer Table by our students, teachers, and parents.

We will have Parent/Teacher Interim Report Conferences on October 8th and October 9th.  Teachers will be prepared to meet with you to discuss your child’s academic and social development. Please do everything you can to keep your appointment and to be here on time for it. If an emergency occurs and you cannot keep your appointment, a courtesy call or email will be appreciated. Please don’t just be a no-show.

Your tuition is paid monthly, so please do not miss a payment.  We cannot remain in good standings with companies that provide a service to us if your payments are late. Your child’s presence for continued instruction depends on your timely monthly tuition payments. Thank you for your diligence in this matter.

May our dear Blessed Mother watch over you, and may God continue to bless you and your family.

World’s Finest Chocolates Candy Sale

THANKYOU to all of our school families and teachers for your hard work in selling candy bars to benefit HACS.  The money was due by Wednesday, September 30th.  If you haven’t turned it in yet, please do so very soon.  Our top  seller will have a $200 tuition credit made to their tuition account in the month of December. Congratulations and thank you to all of our students and families for supporting HACS!

T1 Interim Conferences

Twenty minute Interim Conferences are scheduled for our HACS parents.  The conferences will be held Thursday afternoon on October 8th and all day Friday, October 9th.  Please do everything you can to accept the conference time given to you and to be present and on time for your conference. School is in session a half-day on Thursday (Community STEAM will not be held; FF&G will be held) and school is closed on Friday to accommodate these important Interim Conferences.

Congratulations Student Council Officers

Student leadership is an important part of our school’s success.  Students expressed an interest in running for office in our HACS Student Council.  Congratulations to our Student Council officers:

President:             Jayla Braxton

Moms and Muffins

We will host an event for moms to show our gratitude for all you do.  “Moms and Muffins” will be held on Wednesday, October 21st from 8:20-9:20.  We will serve  a continental breakfast and offer you a glimpse into your child’s morning routine at HACS. Hope to see all of our Moms, Aunts, Grandmoms, or God-Mothers!

Halloween at HACS

You will receive written explanation in your Wednesday Folder on or before October 21st about your child’s class activities for Halloween on October 30th. We tend to keep it simple.  Since the origin of the day for Christians is centered around the holy day of All Saints Day on November 1st, we keep our celebration of this “Hallowed Eve” simple, peaceful, and non-violent.  If your child is invited to school in costume, please prepare a costume that is not scary or violent. Children do not wear masks in school. The PTA will also host “Trunk or Treat” that evening in our parking lot from 6:00-8:30.  Details about this fun and safe trick-or-treating activity will come home to you on a flyer! Mark your calendar!
